Why Study MBBS Abroad?
With massive competition for limited medical seats in India, studying MBBS abroad has become the smartest choice for aspiring doctors. It offers a combination of world-class infrastructure, global clinical exposure, and incredibly affordable fee structures compared to private Indian medical colleges. Agencies like Next Step Education (via Studdle) simplify this journey, ensuring students land in highly ranked, safe, and culturally enriching environments.
Cracking the IMAT Exam (Italy)
To secure admission in Italy's prestigious 100% English-taught public universities, students must pass the International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT). Administered by the Italian Ministry of Education, this test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 100 minutes.
- Test Format: +1.5 points for correct answers, -0.4 for incorrect.
- Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Math & Physics, Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge.
- Non-EU Student Pool: International students from India compete in a separate reserved seating pool, providing a dedicated pathway for non-EU admissions.
NMC (National Medical Commission) Guidelines
When selecting a medical university outside India, strict adherence to the NMC guidelines is mandatory. Students must ensure that the course duration is at least 54 months (4.5 years) with a mandatory 12-month internship in the same medical institution. Furthermore, the medium of instruction must be English. All universities recommended by Studdle, whether in Italy, Russia, Georgia, or Kyrgyzstan, strictly comply with these newly formulated rules.
